Google Translate tells me that "Skovle Hund" means "Scoop Dogg" in Danish.
I'm studying abroad in Copenhagen this semester, so from now through December, I'll be ice cream-ing my way through Europe.
My first stop was Paradis on Købmagergade, in the heart of Copenhagen's city center. Paradis has multiple locations across Copenhagen, and apparently a few in California, too. All of their ice creams and sorbets are made in-house every day, using fresh and natural ingredients, so I didn't feel any guilt about going for two scoops
I got a cone of Oreo ice cream and Passionfruit sorbet (it's hiding deep in the waffle cone!) - I thought this would be a weird combo, but the sweet and tart worked surprisingly well together. The Oreo wasn't just a traditional cookies and cream - the base tasted like an Oreo in ice cream form, with small pieces of Oreos mixed in. The Passionfruit was less sour than I expected it to be, and had shreds of passionfruit mixed in. And, all of the cones in Copenhagen are waffle cones - none of that "pay extra for a waffle cone or settle for a sugar / wafer cone" bullshit.
