It wouldn't be a trip to camp without a stop at Wahoo Ice Cream.
In my 8 years as a camper at Indian Head Camp, a Wahoo cone was a coveted treat on the way home from a camping trip or an intercamp sports game. Before 2013, the scoop shop was a tiny metal trailer on the side of the road - since then, it's seen a major upgrade and fills the first floor of a two-story house.
The ice cream is so homemade that you literally order through a window on the side of the owners' house, then sit on their porch or in their driveway while you eat. They have homemade candy and baked goods, too, as well as fruits and vegetables from the greenhouse in the backyard.
The most popular flavors are Mint Chocolate Chip and Black Raspberry. I always go for Mint Chocolate Chip in a cone with rainbow sprinkles, but if you like your ice cream in a cup, don't miss the homemade hot fudge and marshmallow sauce. And, don't forget to ask what the special flavor is - this weekend, it was Chocolate Peanut Butter, and it was delicious.
